Materials Needed:

• Iron and ironing board
• Fabric marker or chalk
• Ruler

Steps:


Prepare Your Fabric: Wash, dry, and iron your fabric to ensure it's clean and wrinkle-free. You can choose a patterned or solid fabric to match your style.


Measure and Cut: Measure and cut your fabric into rectangular pieces for the sides and bottom of your basket. The size of the pieces will depend on how big you want your basket to be. You'll need one piece for the bottom and several pieces for the sides.

Fold and Iron: Fold down the top edge of each side piece about 1 inch and press it with an iron. This will create a clean and finished edge for the top of your basket.


Stitch the Sides: With right sides facing each other, align the short edges of the side pieces and stitch them together using a straight stitch on your sewing machine. Repeat this for all the side pieces.


Attach the Bottom: Pin the stitched sides to the bottom piece, right sides together. Stitch along the edges, leaving an opening for turning the basket right side out.


Turn Right Side Out: Turn the basket right side out through the opening you left in the previous step. Press the seams with an iron.


Topstitch the Top Edge: Fold the top edge of the basket down to the outside, covering the raw edges. Topstitch this fold in place to create a neat and sturdy top edge.
